Chippy Solar Chandelier

Chippy Solar Chandelier

This week, my hubby and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.  By today’s standards…that’s considered a long time.  I guess being married to that long…you sort of get pretty relaxed, and sometimes forget to be romantic.

Many years ago, we found a chandelier in an old abandoned house.  Even then, I had a strange obsession with chandeliers.  I’ve had candles in it on the patio for a long time.

My hubby’s porch light keeps burning out, and in the long Montana winter months, that means he comes home in the dark.  So, here’s my touch of romance for him this week.

Solar Chandelier

His very own romantic night-light.  This one, he won’t eve have to remember to turn on….and it won’t have to run all day if he did. ๐Ÿ˜€

Somehow, he still doesn’t understand the love of the chippy paint, but he gets that I love it, and that’s always good enough for him.

This little charmer, was so simple to make…It really almost needs no explanation.

By simply filling the sockets…where the bulbs would normally screw in with outdoor silicone and placing a solar-powered light into it, you have your start.  My fixture is a bit wonky, and it took some fiddling to get my lights to stand halfway straight…but again, that’s really part of the charm.

Place your light fixture somewhere it can sit undisturbed for several days.  It takes that much silicone to dry thoroughly.

In case you missed how ratty around my sockets were…here’s a reminder!

Somehow, the chippy paint is charming…but this isn’t! LOL  So, my solution?  a little remnant of my outdoor fabric is a cute little solution.

That couldn’t be more simple.

This “old gal”…will keep my “old bear” company during the cold winter days for me ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is a whole lot easier than candles too!

Hopefully, he’ll think of me each evening when he comes home to his lit up little chandelier!
