This week, I’ve spent the whole week…cleaning, sorting, painting and organizing. It’s a nightmare for a crafter. I’m feeling very much like a hoarder right now. I’ve gotten so far behind, I can’t even tell you. Why now? Well…I shared last week with my readers on Deja Vue Designs that we quite possibly might be moving sometime next summer or fall. I hate that…but I’m really ready to be back with my hubby…so, my house will go on the market at some point…if I can get my CRAP under control. 😀
Do you ever feel like you have to redo something…Just to feel better for the day? To just boost your own heart? I don’t…not very often anyway. This week…I did. I’ve been meaning to redo this little bench, I just couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do with it.
I ran across this kit…and a little bulb went off in my head.
That was gonna be the treatment. I started by lightly sanding it…and then using the spray paint included in this kit.
I kinda even liked it like this.
Using the patina paint included…I started to just put it on lightly…
Then…I just decided, nah…just cover it…
Then I took a paper towel…and wiped it down a bit.
In the past, when I have used this kit, I discovered that I really like to add…well, just a bit more….
Rub and buff.. I like the antique gold…and the aged Spanish copper.
I try adding it in places that would get rubbed a lot…as it would keep the patina rubbed off.
along the higher spots.
in the grooves…don’t worry about over doing it…you can always rub it off…or go back over it with the patina.
Okay…let’s be honest, we’re not fooling anyone with this bench. The wood grain, keeps it from EVER looking like copper. But, one of the things I like the most about this kit…is the colors…so I didn’t worry about making it look REAL…just the blend of colors I like…in the amounts I like.
I just adore all these colors together…the brighter gold…the deeper rich cooper, the perfect patina blue.
I just love it on my counter…with my old chicken feeder…and cow signs.
It even makes my devil’s claw look good…don’t you agree?
Do you have something this treatment would look good on? Have you seen my Patina’d chandelier? Now…keep in mind…This isn’t really a post…just a project.
You can find me all these ways…
