Who doesn’t love a book? I love to read them, stack them, shelve them and yes even tear them apart. Book crafts? Maybe…let’s see…
Not so long ago over at Deja Vue Designs, I made a wreath. Highly popular, and if my may say so myself…gorgeous. It was so popular, in fact, I decided I should share it over here with y’all.
I know some people feel like using books for decor, should be considered a sin. I think it beats throwing one away. Would I destroy a nice book that could still be read? Doubtful…but there are always books that have been so well read. that they are falling apart. Those…are just begging to be used for a nice home decor project. I love looking at book pages….just the way the words flow across the pages. I couldn’t possibly throw one away. So, when a book is in that condition….I’ve got the projects for you.
The wreath I shared a few weeks ago…let’s call it my well read wreath…took little more than patience. While time consuming….it’s super easy to make.
It looks stunning in my spare bedroom.

Something else I love to do with books is stack them…and make pretty accents to sit around to add interest to a room.
These animal print books are my first attempt at decopaging books. As with any experiment, you really never know till it’s done, how well you’re gonna like it. Turns out…I loved it. These became a best-selling item in my booths…I no more got a set done, than they would be gone.
Would you like to see how I made these? Click on any of the pictures to head over to go to the tutorial. I love these for hanging out next to my bed. Sitting on a side table, or an addition to a decorative bookshelf.
I live my black and white set that are aged.
This set…I kept for myself….they sit beside my spare bad…on my crackled table.
What do you think? Books for decor? I think yes….in more than one way.
