Hi LCI readers! Carol here from The Answer Is Chocolate sharing an easy birthday card idea with you. Even though I have them and love them, no die cutting machines or tools are needed for this.
I can’t tell you the last time I bought a card since I’ve been making them for years. We are in the process of a move and a lot of my supplies are packed away. So I thought “OK I’ll just buy one” . Have you seen the price of some cards lately? I was floored. $7.95 and higher for cards that have the kind of stuff I like to put on cards. Not happening. I knew even buying new supplies I could make one for a fraction of the cost.
I headed to Michaels and bought 1 sheet of 12×12 glitter paper and a package of 3D Stickers. I had a coupon for 30% off my entire purchase because the first rule of crafting is never enter Michaels without a coupon. The second rule is: coupons let you buy more craft supplies!
For this project you will need:
- 1 sheet 12×12 glitter card stock
- 1 package 3D stickers
- 2 sheets plain white cardstock
- Tape gun or double sided tape
I had some plain white card stock on hand that I used for the base of my card and to make a smaller panel and cut the glitter card stock as shown:
Layer the smaller panel on top of the base . Choose a combination of stickers from the pack and arrange as desired. I used about half of the stickers for one card and have enough card stock and stickers for another card
My total cost for supplies with a coupon was $4.18 and getting two cards out of the supplies , cost per card is $2.09. Take that $7.95 and higher cards!

And your card is so much prettier, I bet!
