Easy Easter Treats

Easy Easter Treats

I usually think of Easter candy in terms of chocolate ~ I’m a chocolate lover from way back ~ but I wanted to make some Easter Candy with my two younger boys ~ something that was easy to make but messy and gooey.  These Easter Candy Nests are easy to make and were a perfect fit for what I was looking for.   This is an old school recipe that I remember from when I was little but I’ve never made it myself.  The boys had a blast, got gooey and sticky, and I had fun watching them make these pretty little Easter Candy Nests.

These would be pretty on an Easter buffet atop upside down glasses ~ I filled some of the glass bottoms with speckled eggs, jelly beans and card stock flowers.

Don’t you love the morning hair and smiling faces on the chefs!!! It’s best to catch them right when they wake up for fun like this?!?

Ingredients:

  • 1 jar {7 ounces} marshmallow creme
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 can {5 ounces} chow mein noodles
  • 1 cup pastel M&M’s

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat marshmallow creme, peanut butter and butter until smooth.
  2. Fold in noodles and M&M’s.
  3. Chill until easy to handle.
  4. Cover baking sheet with waxed paper.
  5. Use approximately 1/3 cup of mixture to form nests.
  6. Chill for 30 minutes.
  7. EAT!

The boys couldn’t wait to eat their creations.

And I had a nice memory from the past to share with my younger sons.
