For the last three years our kids have hosted a fall camp out. Every year, regardless of how chilly it is, we set up tents in the back yard and have a few friends over for a night of good food, ghost stories & outdoor movies.
As you can imagine, its grown a little bit every year and each year we make a new sign and decorate the porches. Here is a picture of this years sign.
I almost made this sign last year but wound up doing a different one. I can’t remember where I saw this sign initially but thought it was cute enough to save and now I’m so happy I did.
If you want to make your own sign, its such an easy project and this sign literally took me about 45 minutes from start to finish.
I took an old piece of mdf we had lying around and rolled on a quick coat of yellow oops paint I had stashed. Blew up my image and used the pencil method to transfer it to my board. Then just used a small artist brush and filled it all in with black plaster paint.
I also took a little silver German glass glitter to fill in the witches hat band. I snapped these pictures in a hurry and for the life of me I couldn’t get a good sparkly picture. But trust me, this type of glitter puts off a brilliant sparkle. 😉
The kids are busy making plans for next month and are anxiously looking forward to this years camp out. Fall officially arrived and the temps are cool but I’m hoping that its not too cool when the date rolls around.
