Heart String Garland
Mary Beth and I are trading days…so I’m up today…and she’s up on Monday for me.
Are you sick of Valentines yet? Not me..Valentines Day is one of my absolute favorite of all the smaller holidays. I mean really…who doesn’t love the one time of the year where you can tell everyone how you feel about them…and shower them with affection? Tugggggg at the heart string a little. Just saying I love you…means a whole lot.
That said…YEP…you guessed it..ANOTHER decoration for Valentine’s Day. This delicate heart string garland, is pretty fast to make…but such a simple sweet little decoration to hang somewhere you don’t need a lot of pomp and circumstance…just something very understated.
Sometimes I like something simple and demure for a decoration…don’t you? This one is 3-D though…did you notice? Okay…let me show you how I did it.
My garland, has five hearts on it…so…it takes three cutouts for each heart…so I used 15. First, fold all the hearts in half. Start…like above…by gluing ONE side of two of the shapes together…leaving an opening to stick the other heart into.
Then place the last heart into those two…and thread a string…and piece of yarn through..before gluing both it’s sides into the opening.
Then you just repeat for each heart you want on the garland. I didn’t want mine to be too big…so I stayed with five…I cut my shapes out of scrapbook paper…and I’m providing you with a template for a heart to use.
These look really stunning on a present too…hint hint.
I especially love it’s very refined look…on my chippy stuff!
I love the pale pinks and soft blues. What colors are you favorite for Valentines Day? I’m going with reds and pinks. Oh..go check out my quick and easy Valentines Day Gifts for someone in your life…Red hots, pom poms and cupcake holders!
