Mini Crochet Flowers

Mini Crochet Flowers

Some of us are… dare I say it… non relaxers! Personally, I have to be doing something with my hands even when I’m relaxing or watching TV.

These petite crochet flowers are the perfect ‘no brainer’ creative project that are cheap, easy and very portable.

Now I’m no expert when it comes to crochet . . . in fact, I haven’t picked up a crochet hook since I was a kid, but these little mini flowers don’t really need to be perfect.

I saved the pattern some time ago from here . . .
and planned to make these flowers for use as embellishments on cards, mixed media, scrapbooking and sewing projects.

Every time I see vintage rolls of crochet cotton in my thrifting travels, I grab them . . . and now I have quite a large collection of sweet little crochet flowers made from gorgeous vintage coloured cottons.

I originally started making these mini crochet flowers when my dad was in hospital receiving treatment for cancer. My mum and I spent some long days sitting at the hospital and this was a totally portable project that fitted easily in my handbag and could be pulled out when needed. My collection of vintage cotton flowers continues to grow and has become my ‘go to’ project when I need to grab something to work on in a hurry. This project should come with a warning: Making vintage cotton flowers can become addictive!   To see more creative projects from Shabby Art Boutique, please pop over to my blog or check out my Facebook page.

Happy crafting,

Kerryanne

  3. Hey Kerryanne! I’m usually a non-relaxer unless I’m so tired that I just sit like a blog. Usually, I’ve got embroidery of some sort in hand, with a few different stitching projects on the go. I did try making these little flowers a while ago … they were all a bit like me … just a little bit left of centre and loppy! Tee! Hee! Hee! I gave up, but also have a nice stash of vintage cottons that I’ve collected … my plan is to one day crochet an all neutral granny rug with them … item 539 on my “To Do One Day” list! :0) Thanks for sharing and happy non-relaxing. Bear Hugs! KRIS xx

  4. very sweet, kerryanne!
