Have you ever been Boo’ed?
Not off the stage or while you are singing in the car. (…that happens to me! )
Boo’ed at your own front door?
Unlike the other kind, getting Boo’ed at your door is really fun & Boo’ing others is even more so! Boo’ing gets the Halloween spirit brewing and spreads it from house to house.
Here is how it works:
- Print out the “We’ve Been Boo’ed” and Boo’ing instructions;
- Choose friends, family or neighbors to Boo;
- Prepare a special Halloween treat for each of your Boo’ees;
We put our treats in a canning jar. A little fabric on the top, ribbon glued around & rickrack makes it festive.
Now for the really fun part, one or two weeks before Halloween, secretly ,while noone is looking, deliver the Boo treats along with the print outs. Don’t knock, ring or let anyone know it was you!! Part of the fun is not knowing who Boo’ed you.
Once a house has been Boo’ed they will tape the “We’ve Been Boo’ed” sign on their door. Letting the world know they were Boo’ed & preventing double Boo’ing.
And, they will Boo at least two other neighbors. This way the spirit of Halloween gets spread all around the town.
We were Boo’ed for the first time soon after we moved to California. My girls were little and so excited to come home to Halloween treats. Because we were a new family we had a hard time figuring out who Boo’ed us & that was part of the fun. Preparing and delivering our secret treats was even more fun.
Since our first Boo we have Boo’ed & been Boo’ed every year. It is a welcome neighborhood tradition that really kicks off the start of Halloween. (although the discussion about Halloween costumes usually begins in my house in late July!)
Give Boo’ing a try! It might just become a Halloween tradition in your ‘hood too.
Have any of you ever been Boo’ed?
